Indoors and Outdoors

Indoors and Outdoors

The training is under way again, and after a couple of months of just running when I felt like it, and for as long or as short as I wanted, I’m surprised at how easily I’ve fallen back into the schedule!

I’ve always liked routine, so I suppose I shouldn’t really be surprised. Structure works for me 😉

Last night, I mixed it up a little, and did my three miler on the treadmill.

I watched the latest episode of The Following while I ran, and that helped the minutes to fly by. Turns out my teenage crush on Kevin Bacon is still there…. 😉

I also did some weights, as the show hadn’t finished by the time my run was done. I’m sticking to my plan like glue!

Tonight, it was great to get outside and run. I really, really enjoyed it. It felt great after yesterday’s cooped up run. Unusually, it was both dry AND still daylight when we headed out, but the light faded fast at the end of the run.

Here’s the view over the harbour at the end of my three miler, which is a little blurry: sorry about that! 🙂

Tomorrow’s a rest day, and I suspect that I’ll be itching to get out again come Saturday!

Are you training right now? How’s it going for you?

    1. I know how you feel, it’s crazy! Though I’ve neglected my rower this week- I’m planning on doing some rowing on Saturday. Hope you are able to get back out there soon, when the weather improves!

      1. Thanks! The great thing about Texas is that the weather changes every five minutes. It will be 30 degrees warmer on Saturday. That’s shorts weather to me!

  1. We’re enjoying some lovely warm weather – just back from a 6am run to beat the heat. The flip side is that very soon you will have the beautiful spring and summer weather and we’ll have autumn and winter 🙂 Weather ups and downs can be a bit of struggle during full on training.

    1. You’re absolutely right. If we didn’t have the weather to complain about, I wonder what we’d talk about half the time!

      1. Double that with farmers! We are hoping for rain so we can ease off on the irrigation, but it’s not looking too hopeful right now, we are expecting temperatures in the low to mid 30s°C this weekend.

    1. It felt like a real treat tonight! Unfortunately the forecast isn’t great for the weekend: hope you get a dry weather window for your long run Sunday!

    1. Lol- deliberately took a ‘before’ shot. Nobody wants to see my feet after a run. No one. 😛

  2. Weather was crazy tonight, heavy rain and a lot of wind, had to stop. Was afraid a tree was going to fall on me lol

  3. I’m also feeling like this. In the last two weeks I’ve gone from just running when I could to a return to structured running in prep for Paris. Two dawn runs this week already, Parkrun tomorrow and long run on Sunday.
Like you, I’m glad to be back and am noticing the (slightly) longer days already!

  4. Good to catch up with your happenings. You have really great stuff going on, and your positive outlook is regenerative. Good for you!
