Last week, I was thoroughly out of routine. Work demands meant that I spent the week in Edinburgh and so I didn’t get to any of my usual classes.

Should I have packed my running gear so that I could get some solid miles in? Well, yes. Did I? No, I didn’t. And my reasons were entirely practical: I was already lugging work clothes, casual clothes, laptop, work bag, etc and I just couldn’t carry two or three sets of running gear too.

I did loads of walking; getting in an average of 15,000 steps per day and I ate well, keeping on track- even with a few days of hotel breakfasts to tempt me! All in all, I’m really happy with how the week went for me, from a health perspective.

This week I’m looking forward to getting back to class, with a double header of Sculpt and Trigger Point Pilates tomorrow night.

I really have shifted focus this year, my health and fitness goals are still in check but I’m not being as tough on myself as in previous years. Health is about so much more. Having said that, I am thinking about signing up for the next 5×50 challenge which starts soon. I’ll keep you posted on that. In the meantime, this reflects how I feel at the moment:

Have an amazing week all!

At last, I can report that I had a good, solid week of exercise and eating. Hurrah! It’s taken me a few weeks, but I’ve turned that corner.

Ok, so I was relaxed at the weekend as we had visitors, but all in all I’m pretty pleased with how last week went. Monday was a Sculpt class which was a great way to start the week. We used resistance bands, and as there were only two of us it was like a PT session- and I reckon I worked pretty hard! Tuesday was Trigger Point Pilates and while Jog Scotland was cancelled on Wednesday, I still managed to get my step count in. Thursday was a welcome return to PiYo and how I’ve missed that class! I just loved the lower body section- the burn was great! I then got a walk in on Friday to round out the work week.

This week, I’m in Edinburgh so I’ll be missing my regular classes. But I’m motivated and determined to stay on track even if I am in a hotel for a few nights. I’ve got this! Have a great week!

Well, it’s a bit of a Winter Wonderland to start the week here in Tarbert with snow blanketing the village, making it look like a Christmas Card. But I’ve had enough of the festive imagery and I am ready for the snow to go…. we’ve had much more than usual, and it has played havoc with my routine!

Last week I started off well with Glo, followed immediately by Sculpt, a 45 minute session doing some resistance band training. And it was good! I had serious DOMS afterwards 👍🏻

We didn’t have any other classes during the week, but I did manage a solid 5k in Thursday and plenty of walking when it was just too icy for me to run. I had hoped to get another run in at the weekend but this weather has put paid to that idea. Oh well!

On the food front, I’ve been much more consistent with healthier choices and healthy snacks taking priority for most of the week. Hurrah! A solid week at last. I finally feel like I’m making some progress. I’m not where I’d like to be, but it’s all about enjoying the journey, am I right?

Have a good week- and stay on track!

So tell me- how was your week? Did you see the Supermoon on Wednesday? It was pretty impressive here- and unusually, it was a clear night and we could see it!

Last week was a much better week for me. As reported, I had Glo on Monday and Trigger Point Pilates on Tuesday. And while I didn’t manage to JogScotland or to PiYo, I did get my earring and healthy choices under control – for the first week since before Christmas! Yay!

I wasn’t 100% committed all week but I was much more on track for much more if the time, so I’m taking that as a win.

I then went to see Strictly on Tour on Friday night which was awesome, I loved it! We went for dinner before hand, but I made good choices and didn’t have dessert- so I think that was fair enough, too.

Let’s see if I get through this week on track….. I’ll keep you posted!
