Well, we have had a FAB-U-LOUS weekend at Joe and Stacey’s wedding. The bride was stunning, the groom was dapper; the best man impressed with his organisation and speech, and the bridesmaids were gorgeous.
I didn’t run, but I danced the night away!
Would you like to see a couple of pics?
This morning, @TheWelshWookie and I were up early, and spent a couple of hours in the pool, which was great! 🙂
Next, we’re off to gatecrash the honeymoon at Portavadie this week. We are going for the Hogmanay dinner dance, and for a few days to celebrate the new year: trainers are packed for this trip!
Do you have any Hogmanay and New Year festivities planned?
Love your dress and it looks like a great time. What is Hogmanay? I don’t know that term.
For NYE I think W and I are just going to go to a movie and enjoy a nice dinner.
We have in the past held a “non dancing party” at our house. We of course dance and we have our guests bring one or two pizza toppings and a sundae topping if they wish. We then build our own pizzas with all the toppings and then we pig out on sundaes that we build. It has been lots of fun but this year everyone has kids or is away so we are laying low. It will be nice after all the busy-ness of family.
I love the party idea, it sounds like lots of fun! You’ve earned your low profile night, though!
Hogmanay is the Scots word for New Years Eve: traditionally it used to be a much bigger holiday here than elsewhere around the globe, hence we have holidays here on both 1st and 2nd Jan to recover!
There are all sorts of traditions surrounding it: like doing all your laundry in advance of the new year (to do with not washing away your luck in the New Year) and ‘first footing’ just after The Bells… 🙂
My dress had a feather cape, which was great as I could take it off later for dancing! 🙂
The wedding looked lovely! I have a real thing for winter weddings – so cosy! Bride looked beautiful!
Have a lovely Hogmanay dinner! We’re off to friends’ for NYE, then to my mum’s for lunch on NYD. Enjoy your tourist run too 🙂
Thanks! It really got me in the mood for my own wedding planning! Enjoy your New Year festivities: sounds great!
It isn’t too long til your wedding now is it? How exciting!
Someone told me at the weekend that it’s about 14 weeks away! I’m too scared to check that for myself! 😮
Squeee! So exciting! 🙂
Eeek! I’ve just been informed that it’s 103 days! 😮
Almost double figures! Got much left to sort?
Getting there; big decision for the next couple of weeks is the menu: so much choice! 🙂
One of the best bits 🙂 enjoy it!
Thanks! 🙂
Wow you look gorgeous and so does the Bride and Groom. Love the ballerina length wedding dress, so pretty. I hope you have a wonderful New Year. We are heading to a food festival (as if we need to eat more?) and going for a walk around the wharf to look at the yachts. Australia has the iconic Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race that starts Boxing Day – they all end up for New Years in Hobart. I hope you have a wonderful time at the dinner dance 🙂
Thanks! Stacey was gorgeous, and my dress was super comfortable! I’ve watched a little of the yacht race, given my location in a sailing community! The food festival sounds like fun, you’ll have to let us know how it goes- enjoy yourself! 🙂
I have never heard the word Hogmanay in my life! LOL
Sounds like the wedding was SO much fun and definitely looks that way, too. Hope your fun continues into the new year!
Thanks!
I had no idea that Hogmanay wasn’t widely used!
I also hadn’t heard of Hogmanay. Y’all sure do talk funny over there.
We must do! 😮
You clean up real NAS! Looked like a fabulous wedding!
Why, thank you! It was fab!
