As you’ve probably heard, today is The United Nation’s International Day of Happiness. And so, I did something that makes me happy: I ran. I tried out the running gear that I plan on wearing in Madrid, and all seemed OK with it. The vest is probably a little more snug than I’d like 😉 but all in all, I had a slow-but-solid five miler. So, that’s a total of 12.93k this week so far for #ARTWRBR2014, and 57.96 kilometres for March.
And, I also received some surprise mail today that really made me happy: a large, overseas envelope was waiting for me on the doorstep. Puzzled, I picked it up, and carried it into the house, wondering what on earth this could be!
I opened it up, and out came three gorgeous bars of organic, fair trade chocolate in fantastic flavours, and a card! The wonderful Kyla from Motivation had sent me a tasty treat, and a gorgeous card for my wedding! It was such a wonderful surprise, and couldn’t have arrived on a better day! She knows me so well, and my love of fancy chocolate bars 😀 The chocolate is made locally to Kyla in Vancouver, so I have a little bit of local goodness to look forward to!
It was a reminder that not only are you fellow bloggers, but you are also friends – and you’re so generous with your support, your comments and even your lovely gifts! 🙂
What has made you happy today?
I just LOVE the blog community 🙂
Me too! 😀
Yum! I love chocolate! I have so many things to be happy for! I got to wake up next to my handsome beau this morning, enjoyed my tasty morning coffee, had a delicious buffalo chicken wrap from trader Joes for lunch, and have my running clothes in my car, ready for my after work 8 mile run in this perfect sunny weather!
Sounds like you’re having a brilliant Happy day! 😀
I am happy watching March Madness basketball – already so e good underdog victories!
Also – search You Tube for “Pharrell Williams – Happy”. There is a collection of amazing videos of people dancing to the song “Happy” all over the world! Can’t help but put a smile on your face. And that song is so darn catchy!
It’s a great song! Enjoy the basketball 🙂
I am so happy you love the bars and that you got a run in. I also love that they arrived on the first day of spring and also International Day of Happiness. Win win.
I love the blogging community and with this relay I am really getting to know more people. It is great and love that I have friends all around the world.
What made me happy today? Waking up and having coffee with Warren before we parted ways. Going for a walk this morning before work and picking up some new spring colored nail polish. And having the sun shining.
Enjoy and if you want to share with @TheWelshWookie you can 🙂
Your nail colours were very cute and spring- like! I’m going to have one of the bars this weekend. @TheWelshWookie might get a bit, if he’s good! 😉

I love doing the little things in life to make people smile. Janye received my gift on just the right day it seems.
Very cool! Kyla never sends me nuthin! Haha, enjoy it.
Lol!
I ran today too…twice! To and from work, which takes my ARTWRBR2014 weekly total to 28km. A run tomorrow and it will be my best week of Kyla’s well organised blog running event to date!! Running today made me very happy!
Fantastic! Kyla’s done a great job with this challenge, I agree 🙂
OH OH OH CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!! Enjoy it!!!! 🙂 I’m happy to read how happy you are!!! You’re such a beautiful person and I love reading happy posts like this!!! XOXO!!!!
Awww, thanks! Chocolate rules!
Totally!!!
The bars look awesome! I love dark chocolate, particularly 70%+ cocoa. If you’re ever in Edinburgh, go to Hotel Chocolat and have a macchiato made with cacao – it’s awesome! Getting a run in this morning before my Metafit class made me happy 🙂
Oooh, sounds awesome! I’ll add that to my to do list next time I’m in Edinburgh- I’ve always wanted to go to Hotel Chocolat but have never been.
Yeah they’ve got a coffee bar at the back and if you sit there long enough, they bring round some truffles to sample! We go in every time we’re in Edinburgh, which is usually for a race!
Ooh, sounds good to me! Funny how city visits fit around races 😉
Sweet! All of it – the choccy, the blog relay, and your running. Enjoy Madrid!
Thanks! I can’t wait!
