Monday Motivation

Monday Motivation

Today I’ve taken a dose of my own Monday Motivation advice, and I’ve started the week as I mean to go on.

Yes, I’ve been reunited with my trainers, and I have run! 😀 Hurrah!

I ran an easy mile on the treadmill, and followed that with 5k on the exercise bike. Now I feel fabulous!

And – more importantly – pain free 😉

How was your Hallowe’en on Friday? We had a family party at my brother and sister-in-laws, and it was loads of fun! The theme was ’80s, and we had usic and snacks from the 1980s, and most costumes were 80s themed too. @TheWelshWookie and I went as Kylie and Jason (he was Kylie, I was Jason!), my brother was also dressed as Jason, so our very own Kylie had two to choose from! We also had a couple of Madonnas,Marge Simpson, a clown, Mrs Incredible, a zombie, and many more. Janice’s costume was fab: she was Freddie Mercury, from the video for I Want to Break Free, complete with vacuum! Andrew won best costume, as  he’d come as Mr Staypuft from Ghostbusters!

The boys all had fun dooking for apples, and reaching for doughnuts, which was great.

Next, it’s Bonfire Night on Wednesday: are you having fireworks?

Here’s some to keep you going, until then 😉

Reasons to be Happy

Reasons to be Happy

This week I’ve had many reasons to be happy. Here’s some of them.

1. @TheWelshWookie and I have a lunch date planned for tomorrow – I’m looking forward to it!
2. I’ve been tinkering with my tablet PC, which I’ve had for over a year, and found lots of features I didn’t know it had. Fantastic!
3. It’s been a week of candles and blankets – very autumnal.

4. A surprise delivery through the post cheered me up mid week.
5. @TheWelshWookie and I have booked our trip to Coventry at Christmas. And we managed to book it at a bargain price.

What are your reasons to be happy this week?

Reasons to be Happy

Welcome to my occasional series of posts on positivity, and reasons to be happy. Sometimes, counting your blessings is a really good thing. 🙂

This week I’m very grateful for:

1. My health. A little niggle in my ankle is nothing!

2. Planning. Lists, lists, lists are my friend, as always 🙂

3. Making a lifestyle decision, and sticking to it, seems to be reaping some benefits.

4. Having a weekend of Homeland ahead of me. Since Series 3 isn’t on Netflix, we’ve gone ahead and bought the box set, so that we’re up to date before series 4 begins.

5. Finding that my local Co-op was selling bottles of Chablis half price tonight. I love a bargain!

I’m sure that most of you have seen, or participated in the ‘3 days of positivity’ posting on FaceBook. I was lucky to have been nominated by Allison the Running Princess earlier in the summer.
I really enjoyed it, and I’ve now decided that a ‘Reasons to be Happy’ post might be a nice, regular addition to my blog.
I’ve slipped with blogging recently- life does sometimes get in the way- and that’s something I am using as a positive: I’m lucky to be so busy!

So, this week I’ve had many reasons to be happy.
1. I get to spend time with family tomorrow: I can’t wait!
2. It was @TheWelshWookie’s birthday yesterday and it was also my nephew Kieran’s birthday too, so Kieran surprised @TheWookie with a FaceTime call last night!
3. I had a busy, positive, productive Dream Team meeting yesterday.
4. My GSR t shirt AND my GB Relay medal both arrived in today’s post. Hurrah 🙂
5. It’s 50 days until our trip to Disneyland Paris!

Happy

Happy

As you’ve probably heard, today is The United Nation’s International Day of Happiness. And so, I did something that makes me happy: I ran. I tried out the running gear that I plan on wearing in Madrid, and all seemed OK with it. The vest is probably a little more snug than I’d like 😉 but all in all, I had a slow-but-solid five miler. So, that’s a total of 12.93k this week so far for #ARTWRBR2014, and 57.96 kilometres for March.

And, I also received some surprise mail today that really made me happy: a large, overseas envelope was waiting for me on the doorstep. Puzzled, I picked it up, and carried it into the house, wondering what on earth this could be!

I opened it up, and out came three gorgeous bars of organic, fair trade chocolate in fantastic flavours, and a card! The wonderful Kyla from Motivation had sent me a tasty treat, and a gorgeous card for my wedding! It was such a wonderful surprise, and couldn’t have arrived on a better day! She knows me so well, and my love of fancy chocolate bars 😀 The chocolate is made locally to Kyla in Vancouver, so I have a little bit of local goodness to look forward to!
