Another Monday, another successful week in the bag 💪🏻. Despite being away for work midweek, I still managed to get a solid week of activity and another good week of eating on track and firmly under my belt. I’m beginning to build up some momentum on this healthy living journey!

We had another ace Glo class on Monday, and on Tuesday I managed a walk as I was driving for a large part of the day. I knew I wouldn’t manage to get back in time for Jog Scotland on Wednesday but I was up and out early, running in Dunfermline. It was good to get my run in, but it was a reminder that early morning runs are not my favourite! On Thursday I had PiYo and we managed to do Flow- both sections, both sides as well as the tough lower body track, and we also had our first go at the new Power section. Wow! I torched those calories that night!

Friday was another walk, before a lovely day on Saturday when we had another Fèis day. I helped out with the children’s sessions in the morning before trying the bodhran in the afternoon. I can tell you- it’s harder than it looks!

Here we are- another Monday, and another chance to refocus on my goals and another opportunity to remember why I am doing it.

Have a wonderful week!

Well, I did it. One week of solid exercise and eating goals- achieved. I know the consistency is key, but managing to get to all of my activities and eat well for a full week has eluded me for a while.

Last Monday started with a double header of Glo followed by Sculpt, and it’s a tough double class with a cardio session followed by resistance and strength training.

Tuesday was a much needed Trigger Point Pilates, and from this week Sculpt switched to before TPP on a Tuesday which suits me better.

Finally, I made it along to Jog Scotland on Wednesday night where I got in a solid, steady run and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It felt great to stretch out my legs again.

I even managed to get back to PiYo for the first time in a few weeks- and I just love it. The lower body section and total body fusion track of this round are brilliant. We didn’t have VeraFlow but hopefully it will be back on soon.

I rounded up my week with a walk on Friday and on Saturday which was perfect for recovery.

I know I won’t manage a full week of activity this week due to some work commitments but I’ll get along to whatever I can, starting with Glo again tonight. Bring it on! I’m feeling refreshed after a quiet weekend at home so I’m ready to get stuck into this new week. Yes!

Hands up – who found their plans scuppered last week due to the ‘Beast fae the East’? Not just me then? While we weren’t as badly affected in Tarbert as many places, we did have some snow which affected JogScotland, which was unfortunately cancelled two weeks in a row. Classes were affected to some degree, too, but we did have an awesome double header on Tuesday, when we had a Sculpt class, followed by Trigger Point Pilates. And we worked HARD at sculpt, I still had DOMS on Friday!

I’m finding that TPP is just what my body needs after a week of workouts, and it’s making a real difference.

Now that the weather is improving as we move into this week, I’m hoping for a full week of activity: tonight I have a douple class: Glo followed by Sculpt, and I have TPP on Tuesday. I’m hoping to get a short run in befroe that, too. Wednesday should ber a welcome return to JogScotland, and I’m really looking forward to PiYo and VeraFlow on Thursday.

I’ve eaten well this week, with most meals cooked from scratch (not by me, but by Tony of course), and I’ve mostly had healthy snacks. All in all I’m happy with that.

Last week, I was thoroughly out of routine. Work demands meant that I spent the week in Edinburgh and so I didn’t get to any of my usual classes.

Should I have packed my running gear so that I could get some solid miles in? Well, yes. Did I? No, I didn’t. And my reasons were entirely practical: I was already lugging work clothes, casual clothes, laptop, work bag, etc and I just couldn’t carry two or three sets of running gear too.

I did loads of walking; getting in an average of 15,000 steps per day and I ate well, keeping on track- even with a few days of hotel breakfasts to tempt me! All in all, I’m really happy with how the week went for me, from a health perspective.

This week I’m looking forward to getting back to class, with a double header of Sculpt and Trigger Point Pilates tomorrow night.

I really have shifted focus this year, my health and fitness goals are still in check but I’m not being as tough on myself as in previous years. Health is about so much more. Having said that, I am thinking about signing up for the next 5×50 challenge which starts soon. I’ll keep you posted on that. In the meantime, this reflects how I feel at the moment:

Have an amazing week all!

At last, I can report that I had a good, solid week of exercise and eating. Hurrah! It’s taken me a few weeks, but I’ve turned that corner.

Ok, so I was relaxed at the weekend as we had visitors, but all in all I’m pretty pleased with how last week went. Monday was a Sculpt class which was a great way to start the week. We used resistance bands, and as there were only two of us it was like a PT session- and I reckon I worked pretty hard! Tuesday was Trigger Point Pilates and while Jog Scotland was cancelled on Wednesday, I still managed to get my step count in. Thursday was a welcome return to PiYo and how I’ve missed that class! I just loved the lower body section- the burn was great! I then got a walk in on Friday to round out the work week.

This week, I’m in Edinburgh so I’ll be missing my regular classes. But I’m motivated and determined to stay on track even if I am in a hotel for a few nights. I’ve got this! Have a great week!
