Hello, I hope you’re ok- particularly if you’re in the UK and affected by the dreadful flooding and poor weather this weekend.

We’ve been lucky this time around, as we weren’t hit too hard: there was a landslide on the Rest and Be Thankful, however the debris nets did their job and the road remained open- yay!

So I was able to make it to Glasgow and back on Saturday where I had a lovely festive lunch with some of the Dream Team. We even had a lovely walk around the Christmas lights, in the rain 🙂

This week, I don’t have Clubbercise and I probably won’t make my Pound class either, so I’m contemplating using that as a reason to lace up my trainers and bust out a short run. I really have to get back out there!

Here’s something to help with my motivation:

I hope it helps you too 😉

Hello! A happy St. Andrew’s day to you!

Have you had a good week? Mine has been great. We had Joe, Stacey and Ryan here, celebrating Tarbert Book Festival with us. It was such brilliant fun! On Saturday morning, Ryan and @TheWelshWookie had a comic masterclass with Kev F, who draws for the Beano, the Dandy and Marvel comics, amongst others. As ever, Ryan ended up inadvertently volunteering to help:

And he was also responsible for the interesting title of the comic:

Yes, it really was called Space Aliens that Invaded the Earth Only So they Could Eat All the Bacon 😮

In the afternoon, Joe, Stacey and I had a reading and discussion session with Linda Cracknell and her book Doubling Back: Ten Paths Trodden in Memory. It was very interesting.

We had a lovely meal at The Anchor Hotel, and rounded off the evening with wine, movies and games 🙂

We then put the Christmas deccies up on Sunday, and so I’m feeling very festive!

Tonight was a fab Clubbercise class, after it was cancelled last week. I thoroughly enjoyed it. So did our newest class member- a giant helium balloon shaped like a Bride- stuck in the ceiling of the village hall 🙂

Here’s something positive to start a fresh, new week, especially when life seems so busy at this time of year:

Hello, everyone. Did you have a good week/weekend? I did- I had a lovely long weekend, with lots and lots of Christmas shopping; so much so that my present shopping is done! I’d love to say that I can now relax and enjoy the season, and that’s partly true but I’m busy, busy as ever 😉

Last Monday, I omitted details of my weekend, when we had another chapter in my ‘big birthday’ celebration! I had no idea, and so the whole weekend was a wonderful surprise. The girls had a fabulous spa day at The Carrick on Loch Lomond, where we made use of the facilities including the gorgeous infinity pool. I was even treated to a full body hot stones massage. Bliss. The fizz was flowing, of course 🙂

Afterwards, the guys all joined us for dinner at the Boat House at Cameron House, which was absolutely delish. We then headed back to Joe and Stacey’s new house for a party. Brilliant! I was a great day.

I’ve been very lucky, with so, so many birthday treats. I’m one very fortunate girl.

And so, here’s my current thoughts:

Enjoy your week!

It seems a little trite to start my post with a usual question about how your weekend has been, and then to share all of the wonderful things I’ve done, given the hundreds of people affected by the tragic events in Paris- such a wonderful city- on Friday evening.

My mind has continually wandered back to the people affected by terrorism in Paris and elsewhere around the world, and how they manage to cope, to return to a ‘normal’ life, if there even is such a thing.

Here’s something that did resonate with me on Saturday morning:

Hello, and welcome to another week: it’s wild, windy and very, very wet here on the West coast. Late autumn, early winter is well and truly here!

I have yet to get back to running since my holiday. It’s just so dark and wet after work that my running mojo is in hiding. I’m hoping that it hasn’t gone into hibernation… I’m sticking with my classes, though, so all isn’t quite abandoned!

I’ve had another busy weekend, squeezing in three parties and a trip to Glasgow. On Sunday, we had our annual visit to George Square for Remembrance Sunday, followed by a trip to Dobbies Garden Centre – Christmas 2015 is officially underway for us. We had our first Red Cups and mince pies of the season:

I’m going to use this as inspiration for getting back out there this week:

I’m open to advice and motivation to get back out there – what do you do when you have times like this?
