It’s another fresh week, and another damp start here in Argyll. How was your week? I was quite pleased with how I kicked off another 5×50 Challenge, and I stuck to my seven days of activity with no huge issues. Go me!

For those of you not familiar with it, the challenge is to do 5k or 30 minutes of exercise a day for 50 days, and this round kicked off last Sunday. Here’s what I did:

Sunday: a walk through Blarbuie Woods

Monday: Veraflow

Tuesday: Sculpt followed by Trigger Point Pilates

Wednesday: run with Jog Scotland

Thursday: 30 minute walk

Friday: 5k run

Saturday: 5k walk

Sunday: 6.6k walk along Crinan Canal

Not bad! Given that the weather is changing and we move into later autumn, here’s a reminder for you: Here’s to another great week!

For today’s post, I’m going to share a thought with you.

I’m thinking about shaking up my blog a little. It’s become routine, same-y and perhaps even a little boring. And if I’m feeling it, then I’m pretty sure you’re thinking the same thing.

Between now and the end of the year I’ll be thinking about what I want from it, and what I want to use it for.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, feel free to share them here.

On another topic, I’ve signed up for another 5×50 Challenge and today is day two. I’ll share my weekly summary pics with you next Monday so you can see what I’ve been up to 👍🏻

And in the meantime, here’s your Monday Motivation:

Happy new week!

How was your weekend? Mine was filled with Clarsach and organising- two of my favourite things!

That rounded off a good, solid week for me that looked like this:

Monday: circuits. It was pretty near to a PT session as there were only three of us, so Jacqui mixed it up with reps rather than timed stations. I loved it!

Tuesday: Sculpt followed by TPP. Sculpt is really making a difference to my overall conditioning and I’m finding that TPP is critical to my recovery.

Wednesday: it was absolutely lashing with rain, but I got out there with the JogScotland crew and did sprints. Badass!

Thursday: PiYo, and the beginners are certainly ramping it up, and catching up quickly!

Friday: we went for a wet and windy walk

Saturday: another good walk after Clarsach

Sunday: rest

I’m really pleased with how last week shaped up. This week and next will be very different- I have a lot of travelling this week, so I’ll be squeezing in walks and resistance training as and when I can!

Here’s your Monday Motivation: Have a good week!

I’ve had a busy week and an even busier weekend, so this is just a quick stop by.

Last week I did well, I definitely rediscovered my running mojo! Here’s how my exercise worked out:

Monday: 5k run

Tuesday: Sculpt and Trigger Point Pilates

Wednesday: pyramid lamppost sprints with Jog Scotland

Thursday: PiYo

Friday: 6k Run

Saturday: a spa day at Portavadie, including a walk there and back.

Not too bad! Here’s some motivation for next week:

It’s Monday, and for us it’s a bank holiday. Yay! I love an extra Monday off, with nothing much planned 🙂

How was your week? Mine was very mixed: a week where the best laid plans went awry. I started off last Monday with a brilliant Circuits class. I’m finding that my fitness is recovering and every week I am making progress. It’s such a great way to start off the week, revving up with both strength and cardio. I tried out my new leggings from OgiYogi and they were amazing!

I knew I wouldn’t make it to Sculpt or TPP on Tuesday as I was on my way to stay at my parents for early meetings in Glasgow on Wednesday. I did manage a short walk, though. The plan for Wednesday to Friday was to be in London for work, so I planned lots of walking a s packed my resistance bands, but Storm Ali put paid to my plans, and London wasn’t meant to be this time. I did walk around 15k steps on Wednesday and one positive was I made it back for PiYo on Thursday. This new round is ace, and as we have lots of beginners it’s been a chance to really focus on technique and getting each move right.

I had a day off on Friday, and so I decided to head out for a 5k run. It was amazing! The first self motivated run in a while, and I loved it.

We had visitors all weekend, but on Sunday we did go out for a walk in the rain, and this morning, @TheWelshWookie and I got another 5k in. It’s the first 5k that he has done in a long, long time: as he said, it’s wasn’t fast and it wasn’t pretty- but he smashed it!

I may well have rediscovered my running mojo, just in time for the autumn! Have a wonderful week ☺️

Hands up if, like me, you’re finding these darker mornings a little more depressing and tougher to get started on? Add in the wind and the rain and it’s just not the best start to the week after such a beautiful summer!

But along with this comes the promise of crisp, cool evening walks and the smell of autumn in the air of course.

And that helps when I’m thinking ahead to my weekly routine, and what I’ll be able to achieve.

Last week was good:

Monday I was back as circuits and I worked pretty hard. The additional cardio with skipping was most welcome!

Tuesday was another excellent doubler, with the resistance band based Sculpt class followed by Trigger Point Pilates.

I managed to get a good amount of steps in on Wednesday as I didn’t get to Jog Scotland. I’m definitely up for it this week, as it’s been three weeks since I last ran!

On Thursday we had a new round of PiYo and it was brilliant to see a lot of new faces joining us. I’m looking forward to the routine building in the coming few weeks.

I also managed a walk on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so I had an above average week for activity!

Given why I said earlier about mornings, here’s something to help if you feel the same: Have an amazing week!

Hello, here we are at the start of a brand new week, and I can’t quite believe that we are in August already, with schools going back next week. How on earth did that happen?

I had a pretty good week last week, keeping my eating on track and my activity levels up. Now I need to be consistent and keep that going throughout this week.

Most of my activity was walking, but I also did a TPP class on Tuesday and squeezed in a very wet run on Wednesday.

This weekend we’ve been busy cleaning and organising which definitely torched a stack load of calories!

Here’s a little motivation for us all today, if we need it:

Have a great week!

This has been a very quick summer, and August is now almost upon us. How has that happened? I’ve had such a great summer so far and the weather continues to be better than usual so I’ll be making the most of it with a walk along the harbour later.

We’ve had another busy weekend with excellent company, fantastic meals out, family parties and gin, of course!

But what it means is my waistline is paying the price! And with more events planned, I have some dresses that I now need to shrink into! So, it back to the routine as much as possible over the next few weeks.

I’ve had a cheeky day off today, and I have spent it cleaning, washing and weeding – so it hasn’t been spent in the sofa for once!

Here’s to a new week:
