Reasons to be Happy

Reasons to be Happy

This week I’ve had many reasons to be happy. Here’s some of them.

1. @TheWelshWookie and I have a lunch date planned for tomorrow – I’m looking forward to it!
2. I’ve been tinkering with my tablet PC, which I’ve had for over a year, and found lots of features I didn’t know it had. Fantastic!
3. It’s been a week of candles and blankets – very autumnal.

I-live-for-Autumn
4. A surprise delivery through the post cheered me up mid week.
5. @TheWelshWookie and I have booked our trip to Coventry at Christmas. And we managed to book it at a bargain price.

What are your reasons to be happy this week?

Well, it’s been another busy weekend for me: on Saturday morning, I ran the Great Scottish Run family mile with my sis-in-law Stacey, and my nephews Ryan and Aidan. It was really great to see lots of families enjoying the day.

Aidan, who has just turned four, ran the whole mile- he did an amazing job!

The boys also met Ross Murdoch, the commonwealth gold medallist swimmer, from Team Scotland: he was so lovely – he autographed the boy’s t-shirts, and as we crossed the start line, Aidan got a high-5 from him!

In the afternoon, we had my bestie Pauline’s Hen Do. We had cocktails, dinner, champers, and lots of fun & games. And we partied until the wee small hours – I had a ball! 😀

I’ve just finished packing for our trip to Disneyland Paris this weekend….. I cannot wait. For now, here’s some Monday Motivation:

It’s a public holiday here, and it’s lovely to be off on a Monday for a change!

I’ve had a house full of guests this weekend, and it’s been great fun. We’ve went to the beach, to soft play, to a live CD launch, played football, eaten lots and had some vino too. We even toasted marshmallows on an open fire, in the pitch dark!

Yesterday was the Loch Ness Marathon. And I did feel sad that I wasn’t taking part, but that’s life, isn’t it? There’s always next year 🙂

Here’s my self-motivation for this week; I hope it helps you too 😉

Hello! How has your weekend been? I spent mine with friends and family, enjoying the build up to my BFF’s wedding in a few weeks. I’m so excited!

I’m still struggling to find the time to write more than quick blog posts: I’m sure I’ll get there.

Did anyone else miss Series One of The Blacklist, only to find out that it’s amazing? I’m trying to squeeze in some episodes when I can before Series Two kicks off 😀

Here’s something that has resonated with me over the past few days:

I believe it – what do you think?

Happy New Week!

Did you know that its 100 days until, Christmas? 😮

We’ve had a lovely, relaxing weekend that involved a run, the hot tub and Homeland series 3. Bliss!

Here’s something to remember as the week goes on:

Reasons to be Happy

Welcome to my occasional series of posts on positivity, and reasons to be happy. Sometimes, counting your blessings is a really good thing. 🙂

This week I’m very grateful for:

1. My health. A little niggle in my ankle is nothing!

2. Planning. Lists, lists, lists are my friend, as always 🙂

3. Making a lifestyle decision, and sticking to it, seems to be reaping some benefits.

4. Having a weekend of Homeland ahead of me. Since Series 3 isn’t on Netflix, we’ve gone ahead and bought the box set, so that we’re up to date before series 4 begins.

5. Finding that my local Co-op was selling bottles of Chablis half price tonight. I love a bargain!

Whooooooooooooosh!

That was how last week was for me: it ran right past me, and disappeared into the distance!

But this weekend has been our first weekend at home for weeks, with very little planned except cleaning and gardening, of course 😉

So I’m starting this week refreshed and raring to go. And there’s a new series of The Biggest Loser US on right now: motivation overload!

Now, go out there, and embrace this week!

My goodness, August has almost drawn to a close, and I noticed that the leaves on the trees in Lochgilphead are turning a little yellow – autumn will be here all too soon!

We had a brilliant weekend once again, it’s always great fun catching up with family. I have a really busy week coming up, followed by the Foodshare 5 miler on Saturday. And we’re doing our family Secret Santa draw at the weekend, too – happy days 🙂

Just to underline the news that autumn is on it’s way, its our Fantasy Football Draft next Sunday too. Wowee!

I’ll try to get my outstanding blog posts up soon…..

Meanwhile, here’s something I’m going to be putting into practice this week:

Reasons to be Happy

I’m sure that most of you have seen, or participated in the ‘3 days of positivity’ posting on FaceBook. I was lucky to have been nominated by Allison the Running Princess earlier in the summer.
I really enjoyed it, and I’ve now decided that a ‘Reasons to be Happy’ post might be a nice, regular addition to my blog.
I’ve slipped with blogging recently- life does sometimes get in the way- and that’s something I am using as a positive: I’m lucky to be so busy!

So, this week I’ve had many reasons to be happy.
1. I get to spend time with family tomorrow: I can’t wait!
2. It was @TheWelshWookie’s birthday yesterday and it was also my nephew Kieran’s birthday too, so Kieran surprised @TheWookie with a FaceTime call last night!
3. I had a busy, positive, productive Dream Team meeting yesterday.
4. My GSR t shirt AND my GB Relay medal both arrived in today’s post. Hurrah 🙂
5. It’s 50 days until our trip to Disneyland Paris!

Well, where did that weekend go? It whooshed right past me!

We had a fantastic run at the Tarbert 10K. The weather wasn’t great, but it was such a fun race with the BEST support of any race I’ve taken part in.

I’m afraid that I’ve been really busy lately, and I’ve yet to fill you in on both the Kilt Run and the TT10K, but I’ll get to those whenever I can: bear with me!

You might remember me complaining about mentioning my ankle being tender during this summer, which had curtailed my training this year. Well, it has taken it’s toll, and my ankle is yelping at me after Saturday’s run. I know now that I’ve definitely done the right thing postponing the GNR and my first marathon attempt.

This quote really got me through Saturday’s run: I was really relaxed, and quite content to sit near the back of the field:

I have another busy week ahead – I’m sure you do too – enjoy!
