Hello, happy Monday! It has been another gloriously gorgeous day, and for me it’s been a solid start to the week.

I had another busy weekend, catching up with lots of the best people and making plans for this summer. I’ve also booked our travel and accommodation for the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon- yay!

My piriformis seems to be healing, and while not quite back to normal yet, the pain and numbness has reduced significantly over the past week, I’m hoping to have a couple of gentle jogs this week. Fingers crossed! In the meantime, I’m off to PiYo for some stretches and also for a brilliant workout.

This is how I’ve been framing my recovery:

Or at least, I’ve been trying to! Have an ace week 🙂

Hello, everyone! Did you have a good week? I did. Yesterday marked the end of this year’s 5×50 Challenge and despite injury, I’ve really enjoyed it. Here’s a short photo summary of my 5×50 adventures:

I’m not quite finished with challenges, though, as we are mid way through Paths For All’s eight week step count challenge.

To celebrate the end of 5×50, we booked our flights and accommodation for the inaugural Disneyland Paris Half Marathon this September. We have our training plan at the ready, and once my injury has healed we’ll get back out running. In the mean time I’ll keep up with the walking and PiYo.

Here’s a little something that reflects my current feelings:

 Kidding! Here it is, really:

Have a wonderful week!

Is it just me who is finding that this year is simply flying in? It feels like Christmas is only just over, and yet we find ourselves firmly in March already! Wow!

Last week, I had a huge exercise breakthrough. While running is still on the back burner for now, I’ve found that my body is really changing thanks to PiYo. I’m definitely getting stronger, and my flexibility is improving, too. My core has improved, which is helping my balance and my overall fitness. Last week, I improved my plank holds and press ups, which I’ve always found challenging. They’re still tough, but doing them in the hiit style routines of PiYo are definitely reaping results.

Happy, happy!

Here’s how I feel about it all at the moment:

And while that effort isn’t in running at the moment, it is in building a strong foundation, improving my overall conditioning and making sure that I’m in good shape for when I pick my running up again soon.

Have a great week!

Well the sun is shining gloriously in Argyll, and you’d be forgiven for thinking that Spring is on its way. I’m not getting my hopes up yet: late February weather can still be fickle, and you can be fooled by the sun into forgetting that there could very well be ice and frost in the morning.

Nevertheless, this sunshine is very welcome, and it does lift my spirits immensely.

It’s mid term around here, with some schools off for a few days, others for a week, which makes for planning my work confusing- I can never remember which schools are in and which aren’t! At least I have an excuse for my confusion this week 😉

We had a good weekend- Friday night saw @TheWelshWookie going to see the Glasgow Warriors defeat Münster at rugby while I had a lovely swim at Cameron House with my mum and Angie. It was a fantastic start to the weekend. This week I don’t have Clubbercise tonight, which leaves me with an exercise conundrum: what to do? Run! Is my instant thought. I’m staving off the start of a cold: runny nose and glass-like throat is making me rethink that. I’m thinking that I might try out some at- home PiYo courtesy of YouTube, and given the lovely weather I may finish that with a dip in the hot tub, under the cold and star-filled sky and tonight’s full moon.

Now that does sound like the way to kick off a new week.

Welcome to another week! How are you doing? Have you started your week off with a fitness fix?

I’m just back from Clubbercise, where I tripped over one of the disco lights and I broke one of my glowsticks. Not at the same time, though. Oopsy!

We’ve had visitors this weekend- the Donnellys were through visiting, so we had a weekend of football, walks, fun and games. And wine. Of course. It was a lot of fun. I didn’t squeeze a run in this weekend, but we made up for it in walks, I think.

Here’s a positive thought for the forthcoming week:

Be awesome, I love this!

Hello, my lovelies, did you have a lovely time over the festive period? I did. It was wonderful. I’ve done lots of relaxing, eating and some walking – but no running or classes at all. That changes tonight. Eek!

I’m back into my proper routine, with all of the treats and temptations firmly out of the kitchen. I have a healthy version of a turkey curry bubbling away in the slow cooker, and I’m ready to work hard at tonight’s Clubbercise class. Bring it on!

I’ve been thoroughly spoiled with lovely gifts over Christmas- including tickets for @TheWelshWookie and I to visit Harry Potter Studios, and I am so excited! I’m planning on making the absolute most of it, so in anticipation we have begun re-watching the movies and re-reading the books. We started on Saturday morning, and we’ve watched the first four films and I’ve read the first four books. It’s been years since I read them all, and I’m loving rediscovering the details I had long forgotten, or missed first time around. Like this:

 and this:

So before I throw myself back into a routine, I’m pausing to think about what new challenges I can take on. As JK Rowling tells us:

Have a wonderful week!
