The Christmas Scarf

The Christmas Scarf

Happy Monday, everyone!
And Happy Christmas Eve’s Eve!

My new Christmas scarf arrived, just in time for returning to work today:

No running for us tonight: it’s wild out there again! But @TheWelshWookie and I do need to agree the distance we are going to run on Christmas Day.
Any suggestions? Are you planning a run for tomorrow or Wednesday?

Friday’s Photo

Friday’s Photo

It’s Friday night, and I’m heading out to a hen night.
So, here’s a photo of my sister’s Christmas Tree, to add to the festive feeling! 🙂

Happy Friday, all!

Huggin’ Stuff

Huggin’ Stuff

I’m not a big hugger. Of people, I mean.

But I recently posted about how I hug Christmas Trees! 😮 You’ll find that post here.

Then, I was reminded that I actually hug loadsa stuff!

All things, mind, not so much people…..

Here’s me hugging the 150 years anniversary monument, at King’s Cross Underground station:

And here’s me hugging the R’n’R sign in Dublin:

Finally, for now, here’s me hugging a large garden ornament in Iona:

Sorry, it was a flashless night time pic 😉 Maybe my huggin’ addiction is worse than I thought?

Do you have any weird habits that someone else has pointed out to you?

Running in a Hoolie

Running in a Hoolie

Afternoon, all, I hope your weekend is off to a brilliant start!

We have more gale force winds forecast for today, and so I’m blogging while I still have power: pray it stays on, please!

@TheWelshWookie and I have braved the wind and the rain, and we have been for a run down the harbour.

photo (14)

It was blowing a hoolie!

I fair enjoyed it, though it was only a short run. The village still looks strangely welcoming in the midst of a storm:

photo (15)

Now, we’re drying off, thawing out and hunkering down for an afternoon of movies, kicking off with Santa Claus: The Movie I think!

Anyone else running through the gales or other poor weather today?

Foodie (and drinkie) Friday

Foodie (and drinkie) Friday

Happy Friday everyone!

TGIF

It’s Friday the Thirteenth: anyone superstitious out there? If you are, pretend you’re Spanish: they’re fine with Friday the Thirteenth, but not Tuesday the Thirteenth 😮

What have you been up to today? I’ve kicked off a week’s holiday! Woop!

And what better way to spend the day than shopping, eating and drinking with my mum?

photo (11)

We had a great mooch around Glasgow, picking up the final pieces we needed for Christmas. We also had a make up session at Clinique, which was fun! The selfie above is BEFORE the makeover, in case you were wondering!

In keeping with yesterday’s ‘Season’s Eatings’ post, the festive feasting continues. We had tapas for lunch, at Barca in Princes Square: it was delish!

photo (12)

We then had a lil’ refreshment at the Concert Hall before heading home.

photo (13)

I’ve had a lovely day!

Did you all have a good Friday?

Season’s Eatings!

Season’s Eatings!

Happy mic check day!

1-2; 1-2: get it?

mic-check

no, not that….. never mind…..

I’m sorry, I seem to be overdosing on Christmas posts: I promise I’ll do my best to throw some running into the blog mix soon! 😮

Tonight, we had our first festive dinner. It was delish. I tried my best to fill my plate with veggies, and I limited my pigs-in-blanket to two, and I only had one stuffing ball. Sprouts are my absolute favourite. I’d happily eat them all the time.

photo (9)

I did add gravy after this, though 😉

I was stuffed. It was a big plate! But still, that didn’t stop me from polishing off this too:

White chocolate, raspberry & marshmallow cheesecake. Just a small slice!

Now I plan to be good. Ish. Until I hit Glasgow for lunch with my mum tomorrow, that is……

Have you begun your Christmas feasting early?

You’d better watch out….

You’d better watch out….

Guess who came to visit the kids in Tarbert tonight?

Baubles from Run Destinations

Baubles from Run Destinations

When you’re away in a different city and running, do you buy yourself souvenirs?
I do! 🙂
Here are some of the new baubles we have collected this year:

20131208-174837.jpg
The first is my Harrods bauble, which I picked up when I was in London for The Color Run UK back in July. We always buy a Harrods bauble each year, and have done that since 2007, so we now have seven!
Next, is the silver ornament we bought at the Guinness factory in Dublin. We picked this up when we visited for the inaugural RnR Dublin half marathon in August.
Bottom right is a wooden heart with a reindeer’s head, which I got when in Centre Parcs for the Hen Do. Not a race, but I did go for a run that day.
Finally, the sparkly red reindeer is from The Tree Shop at Cairndow. We stopped off there after the inaugural CowalFest trail run, which was in October.
@TheWelshWookie and I have also given in to temptation, and bought some festive goodies.
We now have stollen, as well as these:

I’m looking forward to having a glass of mulled cider, and to tasting these cinnamon Pringles! They also had Mint Choc Pringles, but I though those were a step too far!
Anyone else tried those?
Meanwhile this weekend, I seem to have transformed completely into the embarrassing old auntie….

Tree Huggin’

Tree Huggin’

I didn’t run tonight.

But, @TheWelshWookie and I did go for a walk instead. We took a walk around Tarbert harbour, because it was a lovely cold, crisp evening.

And because we wanted to see the Christmas lights.

photo (4)

Now that power has been restored, the lights are on. There wasn’t a grand lighting ceremony as planned, but the village does look lovely and festive!

photo (5) photo (8)

And for me, a lit Christmas tree means only one thing: that baby’s GOT to be hugged!

Here’s my hug of the tree in Coombe Abbey, Coventry two years ago:

And hugging Tarbert’s tree last year:

Here’s this year’s big hug:

It certainly gives the neighbours something to talk about!

What weird traditions do you have?
