You Found Me By Searching What? Part Two

You Found Me By Searching What? Part Two

A few weeks ago, I wrote a short post abut how some people had found my blog by searching ‘depressed quotes’!

Well, things must be looking up for me, as someone found me this week by searching for this:

Yay! Cool Movember motivation? That’s more like it!

It’s ‘fess up time. I’ve had some late nights this week, and so my POTM has slipped. I’m about 10K off target, which is not good; but is entirely recoverable, I hope!

How are you doing with your November challenges?

Do you have any plans for the weekend? I have my nephew’s Christening, so I’ll be heading through to Glasgow again tonight.

How’s the Christmas shopping going?  All done yet? 😮

Recently, I’ve been eating like I’m still preparing for races:

photo 1 (2) photo (3)

This is a slight problem because, well, I don’t have any races, and I’ve eased off on my training. Hmmmm.

I’ve also been really enjoying Christmas coffees:

And, I’ve been enjoying the odd gin. My friend bought ne a bottle of Caorunn for my birthday, and it’s my favourite. If you only ever drink gin with tonic, you should try a Caorunn with elderflower cordial and ginger syrup. A-ma-zing.

Last weekend, we popped into the new Waitrose store in Helensburgh, and I was very tempted impressed with their selection:

It was difficult to walk away without adding any of these to my basket!

Do you plan to treat yourself to anything this weekend?

The Liebster Award

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been nominated by two of my favourite bloggers, The Improbable Runner and Jane Likes to Run for the Liebster Award! Thanks, you guys! 😀

-Nominate 10 other bloggers for this award who have less than 200 followers. Kinda done- I don’t know how many followers  folks have, so I’ve nominated at random!
-Create 10 questions for your nominees to answer. Done!
-Let the nominees know that they have been nominated by going to their blog and notifying them. In Progress!

What do you think? What’s your view like today?

Addicted!

Addicted!

No, not to running, I’m afraid.

I’m confessing my addiction to Breaking Bad! 😉

funny_breaking_bad_memes

My boring life is on hold as I watch episode after episode, and I now have only three episodes left to watch 😮

Not bad, since I only started watching a couple of weeks ago! I’ve been viewing all campervans with suspicion ever since 😉

So, no running. But to be honest my legs are enjoying the break after three races in 14 days. My next race is 16 days away.

But I’ve not caught up on any other TV shows: Strictly Come Dancing, or Under the Dome, or Biggest Loser, or Downton Abbey, or even Pointless!

Tonight, I’ll get my life back, just in time for a busy weekend 😉

You Found Me By Searching What?

You Found Me By Searching What?

If you’re anything like me, you’ll cast a glance over what, if any, search terms are used by people to find your blog.

Well, last week, someone came across my blog searching for this:

IMG_2633

What?? Depressed quotes?

Maybe I’ll need to have some more positive posts from now on!

Tonight, @TheWelshWookie and I headed for a short run, to keep the legs ticking over before the Zombie Night Run on Saturday evening. We’ve found out that the first two miles are straight uphill, so thanks to PirateBobcat, I’ve been reframing my thinking. All hill are relative, and running is a matter of perspective. These are my current mantras.

Today’s Stats:

Run: 2 miles, slow

Time: 20:39

Trainers: LunarEclipse

Weather: cool, cloudy, a little showery

Today’s life lesson: Assuming that all daytime phone calls are sales calls is a mistake: some nice surprises come that way, too!

What’s been the weirdest search term you’ve used, or someone has used to find your blog?

Rural Living: Landslips

Rural Living: Landslips

As you’ll have seen from yesterday’s post, we had some heavy rain yesterday. I know because I ran in it 😉

running-in-the-rain

And so, as a result of all this rain, we have had a landslip. Actually, we’ve had three landslips today: two on the A83 at Glen Kinglas and Glen Croe at the Rest and Be Thankful, and a third at Tighnabruaich. The A83 is the main road into (and out of) Argyll, and this is the eighth landslip closure in six years, since we moved to Argyll.

Here’s the clear-up job today:

10071001676_f8524014d3

And just to give you some perspective, here’s a wee map.The dark blue line is the affected part of the road:

Ardgartan_Iron_Distance_Map_BikeRABT-Location

The road has just been re-opened for now, but as the forecast is for more rain, I’m obviously a bit concerned about getting to Glasgow tomorrow night for the Great Scottish Run weekend. 😦

The alternative route is a sixty mile detour, also marked on the map, and it adds about an hour and a half onto the two hour journey.

It’s just one of the joys of living in a rural area, on the west coast of Scotland!

Here’s the BBC coverage if you’re interested.

I have just one thing that I puzzle over. This is the warning sign at The Rest:

14517720_The Rest and Be Thankful military road is opened as an alternative to the main A83 which is-1737435

When the lights flash, we’re advised to proceed with caution. Does that mean I should drive slowly, and keep an eye on the hillside; or drive fast to minimise the chances of being swept away? 😮

Wish me luck in getting through to Glasgow tomorrow!
